Treatments — Vaginal Rejuvenation
Some patients are sometimes unhappy with the appearance of he clitoral area, and in particular, the clitoral hood.
A lateral clitoral hoodectomy may therefore be performed to redress this balance and remove excess skin
It should be noted that the actual size of the clitoral body cannot be altered and it is only the redundancy of the overlying skin that can be addressed.
Depending on individual anatomy, this may be peformed in isolation or in combination with labial reduction surgery.
“Careful adjustments in this area of delicate anatomy can make a huge difference to balance and harmony in appearance”

The decision for cosmetic surgery should not be taken lightly. This is why Mr Banwell believes that the consultation process with him and our Concierge is so important. Regardless we are here to hold your hand throughout your journey and answer any questions you may have. That leap of faith may be anxiety-provoking but please know that we will always be here to catch you!
Mr Banwell will discuss with you his thoughts on the best treatment plan for your clitoral skin area. A lateral clitoral hoodectomy removes skin from the lateral aspect of the clitoral area. It does not change the size of the clitoral body per se.
Reduction of skin from around the lateral aspect of the clitoris. Can help improve the balance between the clitoral and labial areas.
The surgery can take anything up to 1.5 hours depending on the complexity and severity of the problem.
The recovery is quite straight forward but this will vary from patient to patient and whether or not you have surgery in the clitoral area alone or in combination with a labiaplasty. Mr Banwell recommends you lay flat for 48 hours to help the swelling settleYou will be able to shower the day after leaving hospital after which you can pat the area dry with a towel and then use a hair-dryer on a warm setting to ensure everything is completely dry. You will normally be able to return to work after 1 week or so depending upon how you feel.
In the first week following surgery you should take things very easy, preventing any mishaps. The following week you will find you can do much more and may be ready to return to work after only a few days. In isolation this is a very small procedure but swelling and wound problems can still occur. You should avoid lifting and carrying for a week following surgery and strenuous exercise/physical activity should be avoided also for a week or so. You can drive when you feel safe to perform an emergency stop otherwise you insurance company may invalidate your insurance.
The operation has a high success rate and patients are grateful once more for a more harmonious appearance and reduction of the skin around the clitoris.
Unfortunately complications can occur following any surgery and patients need to be fully aware of this. Mr Banwell does his utmost to minimise the complication rate and likes to practise in a safe manner. The commonest complications are bleeding, haematoma formation and the need to return to theatre, as well as infection, numbness, alteration in sensation, clitoral damage, contour irregularity, asymmetry in the healing and the final result and dissatisfaction. Please note that pre-existing anatomy and size of the clitoral body may mean that surgery may not be able to meet your expectations.
