Hybrid Breast Augmentation
Hybrid Breast Augmentation by Mr. BanwellHybrid or so-called composite breast augmentation combines the benefits of the latest generation breast implants with the benefits of small volume fat transfer.

It is a win-win situation. For patients who love the idea of fat transfer but whose frame may not be suitable for fat transfer alone this is a super technique.
Whilst fat transfer in itself is an excellent technique it has its limitations because there is always a degree of reabsorption. Furthermore, this becomes very relevant for patients seeking larger volumes and thus several operations are usually required. The main limitation, however, is the actual availability of fat in any given patient (‘donor sites’) and most patients who want this technique may not have sufficient volumes. An implant is usually therefore by far the best way to achieve meaningful volume but adding smaller volumes of fat to the medial pole (cleavage area) and the upper part of the breast is a super method to finesse an implant-based augmentation – it’s akin to adding icing on the cake!

Advanced contemporary breast augmentation concepts

Dr Paul’s HYBA Technique
Dr Paul Banwell has been refining and finessing his composite breast techniques for some years. Fundamentally we use a high quality soft Motiva implant and then we inject fat usually harvested from the tummy or thighs into the cleavage and superior pole. The fat for this purpose is ‘macro-fat’ which creates additional volume. However, Dr Paul also introduced his unique angle on hybrid techniques by encompassing regenerative techniques as well. His proprietary HYBA technique (HYbrid Breast Augmentation) uses regenerative stem cell technology by utilising nanofat into the cleavage and upper pole. This depends upon how much the fat has in donor sites and what is required by the patient. Dr Paul will discuss the size of the implant and also how much fat you would like to be used. This is very dependent on your available donor sites.
HYBA is an acronym for HYbrid Breast Augmentation.
Yes. All of our breast augmentation procedures are performed using large volumes of local anaesthetic to minimise discomfort and accelerate your healing and return to normal activities. You also have a choice of uncontrolled anaesthetic (untubed sedation) or controlled anaesthetic (tubed).
Yes! You are in and out of the hospital the same day and the recovery is very quick.
Garment for donor site – usually the abdomen or thighs as well as compression bra for the breasts.
No. Dr Paul generally does not use drains for his breast enhancements. We understand that this is a concern for some patients but his preference is not to use drains for ballerina breast augmentation
