We are delighted to be offering a new service at PANTHEONS Clinic focussing on skin rejuvenation of the face, neck, decolletage and breast areas.
The effects of intrinsic ageing and extrinsic ageing from UV and environmental exposure are well known to all of our patients. Whilst it is important to minimise these effects with a healthy lifestyle and biohacking measures, ongoing regular treatments are also needed.
We are now able to reveal smoother, brighter, younger-looking skin with CO₂ laser resurfacing — a gold-standard cosmetic treatment designed to refresh and renew your skin from within.
"Adoption of CO2 laser treatments is a major advance for our progressive plastic surgery practice."
The CO₂ (carbon dioxide) laser works by gently resurfacing the skin while stimulating your body’s natural collagen production, helping improve skin quality, texture, and firmness over time.
Carbon dioxide (CO₂) lasers are widely used in plastic surgery because of their ability to precisely ablate soft tissue while providing excellent haemostasis. Operating at a wavelength that is strongly absorbed by water, the CO₂ laser vaporizes tissue in a controlled manner and produces a predictable zone of thermal injury, which promotes collagen contraction and subsequent remodelling.
One of the most common uses of the CO₂ laser in plastic surgery is skin resurfacing. It is employed to treat photoaged skin, fine and deep wrinkles, acne scars, and other textural irregularities. Both fully ablative and fractional CO₂ laser techniques are used, with fractional resurfacing allowing faster healing and reduced complications by leaving intervening areas of intact skin.
CO₂ lasers are also used for scar management, including the treatment of hypertrophic, surgical, and burn scars. By improving collagen organization and reducing scar thickness, laser treatment can enhance scar texture, pliability, and overall appearance. In addition, the CO₂ laser is frequently used for the removal of benign skin lesions such as warts, seborrheic keratoses, syringomas, and xanthelasma.
In periocular and facial procedures, the CO₂ laser is used in laser-assisted blepharoplasty and facial rejuvenation, offering precise tissue cutting with minimal bleeding and reduced postoperative bruising. The thermal effect of the laser also contributes to skin tightening, making it useful for facial and neck rejuvenation.
Overall, the CO₂ laser is a versatile tool in plastic surgery, valued for its precision, heamostatic properties, and ability to stimulate collagen remodelling. Its successful use depends on appropriate patient selection, careful technique, and meticulous postoperative care to minimize complications and optimize outcomes.
The decision for cosmetic surgery should not be taken lightly. This is why Mr Banwell believes that the consultation process with him and our Concierge is so important. Regardless we are here to hold your hand throughout your journey and answer any questions you may have. That leap of faith may be anxiety-provoking but please know that we will always be here to catch you!
Your treatment is tailored to your skin goals. A topical or local anaesthetic keeps you comfortable during the procedure. After treatment, some redness, swelling, and peeling are expected as fresh, healthy skin emerges.
Downtime varies from a few days to two weeks, depending on treatment intensity. Skin continues to improve over the following months as collagen rebuilds.
CO₂ laser is ideal for those looking for noticeable skin rejuvenation with long-term benefits. A consultation with your provider will help determine the best approach for your skin type and goals.
